The St. Jude Craft Fair tradition began in 1985, initiated by the
St. Jude Women’s Club. It has grown from 20 vendors to over 90 vendors, and has
become Allen’s most anticipated craft fair.
Guests will enjoy shopping for hand crafted one-of-a-kind items
such as baby clothes, quilts, floral wreaths and centerpieces, candles, jewelry
and holiday décor. In addition, the St.
Jude craft kitchen is open to "re-fuel" hungry shoppers. The event is renowned for its’ savory baked
potato lunches shoppers will also find a variety of homemade soups, bread and
desserts. The Women’s Club attributes
the craft fair’s success over the years to the great volunteers of St. Jude.
Hundreds of parishioners are involved in the process, from baking to serving to
advertising. In the past 26 years,
proceeds from the St. Jude Craft Fair have gone toward a variety of projects,
some of which include remodeling the church kitchen, building the courtyard
fountain and funding the purchase of a well in Mexico. Come start your holiday with the tradition!

Paper Crafting Palooza Begins!
Exciting News!
Our paper crafting palooza is set to begin on September 14 from 7:00-9:00pm at Kim's house. Please join us as we make our first 3-Dimensional projects, a unique 6-sided gift box fully decorated and adorned and cinched at the top as well as a coordinating gift tag. You will walk away with these projects as well as a written tutorial explaining step by step how to recreate them at home because once you make one, you will want to make more and more. The greatest thing about these gift boxes is that they are so multifunctional! They can house candy, jewelry, or even a small jar of honey or jam. The sky is the limit, but after this, you won't want to gift wrap your small gifts again!
Join us on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 7:00pm at Kim's home:
5905 Silverton Court, Parker, TX 75002
Class Fee is $15 and the supply fee is $10
To RSVP: click HERE by Sept. 5th.
We can't wait to see you there!

How is your summer going?
Shannon and I are getting a head start on our Soul Sisters craft fair projects. St. Jude's Craft Fair on November 4-5th will be here before you know it. I used to gripe about how the Big Box Stores started selling Christmas items right after July 4th, but now as a crafty person, I understand. Last year Shannon and I started working after Labor Day. In two short months we made 100's of items, sacrificed a lot of sleep and drove our families crazy!
Not this year!
We already have a bunch of GREAT IDEAS and the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini has some of the BEST holiday ideas ever! I LOVE Stockings - there's a punch, stamp set and a Big Shot die for that. I LOVE Advent Calendars - there's a Big Shot die and stamp set for that! I LOVE Fall Foliage - there's a stamp set for that! I'm excited and we can't wait to SHARE it with you!
Here are some pictures of us and our gifty items at the Lovejoy Cars & Craft Show. Boy was it windy that day! Shannon and I talked to a bunch of WONDERFUL people that day and sold a few things too.
Shannon (left) & Kim (right). By the end of the day we were hanging onto the tent. |
These are Mini Sticky Note Holders with a Gel Pen in lots of bright colors. |
Yummy Hershey bars wrapped for giving in Designer Papers. |
Desk Frames with Sticky Notes and Matching Pen. |
Gift Card Holders - Lovejoy ISD colors are black and red. |
The gift card holders (and almost anything else) maybe custom made for you in colors of your choice. You might be thinking - "I can to that" - but will you really take the time to figure it all out? If you don't want us to make it for you - we can always teach you how to make them yourself. It is all about SHARING what we LOVE and INSPIRING others.
As always, thanks for looking. Please leave a comment :-) We appreciate feedback of any kind.
Soul Sisters,
Kim & Shannon

Exciting News
Soul Sisters has exciting news....we were invited back to St. Jude's Craft Fair and today we got to choose a primo booth! We are really happy about this because last year our location didn't allow for everyone to find us, or allow everyone to get in to see us especially if they had a stroller or were on wheels! This year, I am happy to report we are much more accessible and we are already hard at work to make it worth your while to come see us in November! We will keep you posted on updates as the time draws nearer!

Strength and Hope
Speaking of strong women as my Soul Sister does in her last post, I think the stamp set used to make this card is soooo aptly named. It is available in the new summer mini, and also as a digital download in a kit with the most beautiful paper. If you should decide to purchase this beautiful and very versatile stamp set, know that Stampin' Up! will donate $2 of your purchase price to the American Cancer Foundation!
As soon as I saw this kit, I had to pre-order it not only for its beauty and elegance, but because of its personal meaning to me. Let me tell you why I made this card...
One of my personal heroes is my younger sister Rachelle. She is an AMAZING woman with the most positive attitude and wonderful outlooks on life I've ever known. Her motto is, "Love the life you live and Live the life you love," and friends, she truly does just that. While my sister has always been able to make me laugh, and impressed me with her quick wit and gregarious personality, I think that these qualities were even more magnified after surviving cancer not once now, but twice....the first time, at the tender age of 28 and the second time only a few short years later.
Cancer is an ugly, frightening word and the news of my baby sister facing her mortality-the second time with a three year old son-rocked my world. But not surprisingly, she kept me and our entire family going. She faced this devastating disease and as of this year has been told that she has "Graduated" as she reached her 5 year cancer free mark! Throughout all of the surgeries, chemo, hair loss, illness, fear, anger, and countless other effects of this terrible sentence, she kept smiling, and kept us all laughing.
Five years after her second bout with cancer and now cancer free, she still rallies against this disease as she is captain for her local Relay for Life team, heads fundraisers, walks the survivor lap, and works as an organizer. Most importantly though, she faces every day with enthusiasm and gratitude that she is here to embrace whatever may come her way. And I dear friends am grateful beyond words that she is still here to be the best mom I know, the best auntie my daughters could ever ask for and the best friend I have ever known. So my dear Bitsy (yes, your childhood nickname is out here for the world to see and there's nothing you can do about it) this card is dedicated to you because I love you and because I'm proud to be your sister!
And to those of you reading-if you know someone fighting this fight-encourage them not to give up and to stay the course because we are all in this crazy battle together and sometimes it just comes down to love, strength and hope!

Happy Mother's Day
I was able to sleep in past 7 am. My car is all gassed up and washed (Thanks, Michael) and I have some lovely Godiva chocolates to dig into later.
It is okay to be a little selfish today. I give you permission. :-)
Today is not just about you, it is about all the women in your life. Aunts, sisters, friends too. Next year, send a card to someone not related to you. Some one who has inspired you, someone who gave you some great advise, or someone who just might like to hear from you.
Let us rejoice and be glad! For this is the day that God has made.
Happy Mother's Day to y'all from Soul Sisters,
Kim and Shannon
